Associazione Culturale Ticcami | La Tourette e Me was founded from the direct experience of people living with Tourette Syndrome and their families.
It is a space for information, education and dialogue, free from stereotypes, prejudice and misinformation, but above all designed to offer practical tools to those who live with Tourette’s every day.

Our purpose

Tourette Syndrome is still one of the most misunderstood neurological conditions. All too often, it is portrayed through stereotypes, jokes or incomplete information, leaving those who live with it every day to contend not only with their symptoms, but also with prejudice.

The cultural association Ticcami – La Tourette e Me was founded to help change this situation. Our aim is to promote a culture of knowledge, inclusion and respect through information that is accessible, scientifically accurate and deeply human. We believe that understanding is the first step towards breaking down stigma.

What we do

The association promotes educational and awareness-raising activities dedicated to Tourette Syndrome and its related conditions.

Mission

Ticcami grew out of the lived experience of people with Tourette syndrome and their families. Our mission is to make Tourette’s better understood and help build a society where people living with the condition are heard, respected and able to participate.

We create articles, podcasts, educational resources and cultural initiatives to share experiences, challenge prejudice and help families, teachers and the wider public see the person beyond the tics.

The association was founded with the following aims:

  • promote accurate information about Tourette Syndrome
  • combat stigma and prejudice
  • give a voice to first-hand experiences
  • encourage inclusion and awareness
  • support families and people living with the syndrome

The Tourette and Me project

“La Tourette e Me” is the association’s educational voice. Through articles, podcasts, first-hand accounts and in-depth features, we explore Tourette Syndrome from the perspective of those who live with it every day, bringing together personal experience, scientific evidence and accessible information.

My story

Hi! I’m Marco, born in ’83, from Veneto, author and editor of the blog and podcast Tourette and Me, launched in 2026 to raise public awareness of Tourette Syndrome.
Tourettian by birth, not by profession, and “officially certified” by a diagnosis back in 1999, I enjoy talking about Tourette’s from the perspective of someone who actually lives with it.
